Louis Vitton

A friend asked me to make her daughter's birthday cake this year with a Louis Vitton theme. I was a little nervous as I'm no professional but I googled some images and there were some very awesome ones! I found one I thought I may be able to replicate and set out on the task :)

First I made a batch of chocolate marshmallow fondant. I really like this Wilton recipe so I decided to add 2 tablespoons of cocoa to make it chocolate. You can find the link to the fondant here: Marshmallow Fondant .
Then I baked 2 loaf pan sized marble cakes. I let them cool for a couple hours and did a crumb coat of chocolate icing to hold the fondant in place.

Then I was ready to roll out the fondant :)

After rolling the fondant, I dyed some of the left over fondant with brown colouring to make the details of the purse.

I had to hand paint on the prints for the purse (this took a long time!) I used gold edible dust (glitter) mixed with glycerin - the glycerin asks as a glue and eventually dries and the gold dust is left behind.

The purse is all painted and ready to put in the cake holder until delivery :)

I had to add "Happy Birthday" somewhere so I made a tag that looks like a price tag (not edible).
I sure hope the recipient enjoys the cake as much as I enjoyed making it!
